Magnitude: 10.5 Size: 8.7' Distance: 42 million light-years
Skill Level This galaxy is very faint. You will need excellent tracking, long exposures, and advanced processing skills.
Recommended Equipment Use a medium-sized Newtonian to capture both NGC 3718 and the galaxy it's interacting with (NGC 3729) in the same field.
An SCT gives you better resolution but requires much more exposure time.
