I think the game is really expanding in the right direction, in that more jobs are opening up. But I'd really like to see two things.

1) Bassically, I think that the player should be able to haul freight for Korolov. I mean there's already a playership freighter, what's the point if you can't use it as such? Plus, who didn't mod the new freighters into playerships as soon as they got .99.

2) I'd like to see piracy expanded, fill all those freighters from Korolov with cargo, throw in a Commonwealth bluk freighter to discourage you and add some challenge and your there.

I agree about the serious pirates. If the player was able to carry cargo, they should be able to hire an escort. And I think that they should have to hire an escort. maybe something like "Pay 100 credits for a sapphire yacht. 300 credits for a wolfen and 500 credits for a Ronin B."

Maybe Korolv would warn you if there was a charon frigate lurking.

I agree with those who advocate for playerships to freight cargo for Korsolov Shipping. We also have a problem though; you start out being an escort for a freighter. You fly mabey four or five missions before the Charon Pirates sick the Kronosaurous on you. By this time you are possibly a Journeyman. Well, if you are lucky enough to defeat the Kronosaurous, your career is at an end; Korsolov will never give you another mission because you are "too valuable." Now where is the fun in that? If you were really that good, then you should be able to take whatever the Charon Pirates can throw at you! You should be a well sought after escort; what lowly freighter would not want to be protected by a legend? Also, I think that we need to have a rival shipping company. The real world thrives on competition, so why only one shipping company in all of space? In summary, we need: 1. to be able to ship cargo as well as protect it; 2. to be allowed to fly missions (better missions) even after we reach legendary status; 3. to have a competitor for the Korsolov Shipping Company.

Oh yeh, mabey the Korsolov Shipping Company's limits could be extended to St. Katherine's and beyond; use military grade transports with upgraded Corporate Cruiser escorts. Give the cruisers multiple ion blasters, Legend shields, and increased manuverability. Shrink the cruisers to 1/2 of their original size, and give them a name like "Corporate Fighters;" that would make things more interesting. :twisted:

Indeed why not multiple competitors, say 3, 4 or even 5 shipping companies ?

Freight and Protection missions could increase your status w/ one company w/o decreasing it w/ the others, except a little if they attack you and some of their attackers get crushed. Attack missions against competitors' freighters would dramatically drop your status w/ regard to the attacked company.

I dont know about multiple shipping companies, Korolov does just fine on its own. Personally, I only do the missions to increase my rank enough for the later events.
I can understand that Korolov dosn't want to pay a legendary pilot thousands of credits to escort lowly freighters as it would destroy their profit margins so the current missions cut off at a logical point. As for transporting cargo, it dosn't have to be a Korolov mission at all. Maybe a CW colony is running out of supplies and are willing to pay top dollar if you can get "X" tons here within "Y" minutes. or try to find the freighter that was supposed to be delivering the supplies and either defend them or just loot the supplies from the wreck and cash in yourself.

There could be some 'elite' transport missions later on, perhaps supplying teratons or ringers? Besides a certain CSC that needs meds theres not much in the way of trade later in the game. This could also be a great way to earn some rins.

you forgot 3 more later game trade missions: the superfreighter escort mission, the "we empty your cargo bay so that you can transport more supplies" mission and the Auroch escort mission.

I like your idea on supplying Commonwealth colonies. As for your views on multiple shipping companies: there are many ways in which to play this game; you wish to build your rank, while I like to do as much work as I can in the system that I am in. I do not believe that a legendary pilot would be paid thousands of dollars if given missions after reaching his status; after all, he was only doing his duty in being an escort, when the Kronosaurus attacks (usually). Why should he expect to be paid more than the cargo's worth. If Korsolov were to have say a wages cap on what it pays its escorts after they reach legegnadry status, then you could still fly the misions, and earn more prestiege. By capping earnings, the escorts would not be eating into the Korsolov's profit margins. Better yet, why not put the escorts under a contract with set wages, with incentives. Also, mabey one could fly missions for Talikon Ventures (i.e. - our transport was captured by the Ares, we will pay x - amount to for for it's safe return; or: your ship is pretty well armed, how about transporting some cargo for us to Adventure Outfitters?)

I didn't forget about the three other missions; but I do not encounter them on a regular basis either. I was concentrating on Korsolov missions, not on Commonwealth Military missions. :)

That sounds rather well, for a mission; what rank in Korsolov's would you have to have before being considered worthy for such a mission, and when will the mod with this mission be ready for upload/download?

Hi DarthSaber, hi all,
I never considered rank in getting to play this mission; I suppose Journeyman or better could be a requirement. I mean, if you do manage to save the Korolov station (not a guarantee, especially if you play with the 'new ships + Charon stronger' mod as I usually do), then are the Korolov really still going to worry about rank? Maybe that could be another prize for completing the Shipyard mission: whatever your rank in Korolov before, congrats now you've increased it. Those with a Korolov rank get promoted to Captain or Legend / those without become Journeyman or Captain...
As for when it'll be ready, I've just started the coding. I'm trying to lift what I can from Point Juno and the other scripted missions, but it is still slow going. I will keep you informed... :)
