Ok, so this post is designed to help get Sandbox organized. Here's a list of what we need:

If you want to help with an item on the list, or have another idea to add, please post here.


The UNID for Sandbox is 0xEFFFxxxx. The 5th number determines which modder created that UNID. Mine is F, so everything I make for sandbox will have the unid 0xEFFFFxxx. When you post to say you'll help with something, please ask for a specific character.

Sandbox personal UNID list:
Drako Slyith- 0xEFFFFxxx
RPC- 0xEFFFExxx
DSMK2- 0xEFFFDxxx




This is still very incomplete, and is likely to change in the near future. Please post any ideas or suggestions.

Drako: Can you append an "F" so your personal UNID is 0xEFFFFFxx because I can see conflicts like 0xEFFF1Fxx (which is a dockscreen and is in your UNID range). If it's your intent for that to happen than I'm okay with it. (we'll just need to be a bit diligent when making a unid). Also, add dockscreens to the list (unless they fall under station or something).

Actually, I think it would be easier just to have the fifth digit be that modder's and they are responsible for no conflicts. I'll Edit my first post.

I made some more progress on the topology. I have an image of a very early version of the Ares Space. I decided to post it here to ask everyone what they think of it. This is not even close to the total number of systems, but it is a basic framework I can work from. I wanted some input on what you think of the system arrangement and the names.

@RPC: That's odd. What browser are you using?

@DSMK2: Sure. I was going to do some work on it, so we can both do some work with it. I was thinking that anomalies would be very rare encounters. What I thought of is Worm Holes (which randomly gate you) and black holes (which suck you in and kill you). Any other ideas would be welcome. (Maybe a weird ship popping into existence?) I would like to work on either a worm hole or a black hole, but do you prefer one? Thank you for helping. What would you like for your sandbox UNID character?

The colors are a bit off because attachments have a limit to size, but you'll get the idea. (I think it would be good to get better map images (like split up a galaxy from Luminous to use)

Ok, thanks. Nice topology :D
I've got some support from Djohaal and DSMK2 from IRC, so expect some content from them :D
Djohaal also gave us the okay to use his new rerendered Vanilla graphics.
Digdug also gave his okay to use WE4 in Sandbox.
*EDIT: also, I'll try to organize all the Sandbox content. There's so much scattered everywhere :(

@Dracko 0xD5xxxxxx would be fine. I was thinking of doing pulsars (which generate a instant death wall, effectively bisecting the system), magnetars (destroy your ship instantly once you get too close), and tears in space-time (spawns some kind of enemy).

DSMK2: Sounds great. The sandbox UNID has the first 4 digits as EFFF, but I can give you 0xEFFFDxxx. Would that work? For the pulsars, maybe not have instant death, but heavy radiation, so you will be irradiated, just to make it more like a normal pulsar.

RPC: Cool. All the content of WE4 would be very good, and I love Djohaal's renders. Thank you very much.

It's the buy and sell dockscreen.... but it's not. I think that comShowBuyScreen is a lambda. I wanted to know how to add a check to see if a player has a mining license when selling ore.
