I have tried several times to use the Galactic Map mod (or mods? I am not sure if there is more than 1 of them out there, by different creators) but it has never worked-the game always shuts down/crashes after I try to view the Galactic Map
I have looked as best I can, but I have not been able to find much info on this subject.
Is there a working Galactic Map mod somewhere?

What version are you using? Galactic Maps (maps of all the stargates so you don't get lost- that wasn't a problem in Vanilla Trans but the Network....) were implemented in around 104, so they won't work for 103 and less, BUT the current version is 105, which is in the Announcements section of the forum IIRC.

The only mod that is purely based around the Galactic Map function, is My mod here. It will only work if you 1.04 or 1.05.

The Galactic Map function is gathering popularity, and the latest use is in The Network by Drako Slyith.

To use it, in-game, press [M], then [G]. That should be it. I hope that helps. :D

Thanks, all, for the answers.
I'm running version 1.04 right now, and I tried to use your Galactic Map mod, Privateer, and got the response "Transcendence has stopped responding...windows is searching for a solution" etc., etc.
Evidently, there was no solution, because the program never actually finished closing down nor did it continue to run. So I shut it down manually and started over. I removed the Galactic Map mod and I tried to run the Network mod, and got the exact same response.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Update: I went ahead and got hold of version 1.05, and then went ahead and removed most of the other mods I was running and tried to run the Galactic Map mod again, but got the same response. I also tried to run the Network mod again, and got the same response.
The mods that I'm running right now are as follows: Communications Array, Arena Extension, Beta Weapons, Godmode, and The Network
Is there a chance the mods are interfering with each other?

Hm...you're not the first person to have troubles with Galactic Map mods...particularly mine, at that. Does it only break when you do "M-G", or does the game just not load? Obviously if *both* mods that use the Galactic Map Function are failing, that's the issue...that or it's Adventure Extensions you're choking on.

None of the other mods should conflict...can you please check your Debug log after the fail. That contains critical info regarding the error (usually). Just copy and paste the session you were on here, please, or on our new pastebin. The latter might actually be better to prevent the thread from getting messy.

Thanks again for the help...here's what I have found out...
I don't know what it is, specifically, but it appears to have something to do with a mod file I made for a player-selectable ship; If I select to run the Network mod, and then try to select my modded ship, that's when the crash occurs. But if I choose some other ship (even one from another mod), it appears to load without any problems.
Any explanation?

Update: Here's the Debug Log; Sry I couldn't get to load it in the pastebin-I promise I will do so in the future.

Hm. Don't panic about most of the Duplicate Names...the Network mod creates those...I'm guessing the problem is this player ship you have made. Can you paste the code of it, or copy it here?

Adventure Extensions are very finicky about those types of ships, and considering the Network and Galactic Map are Adventure Extensions, I will assume that is your problem.

You said it works when you choose any other ship, right? Then that's your problem, but please post the ship code so I can see what's wrong with it. :)

I'll post a guess right now: Your ship has an invalid starting system.

Ahh yes, I made that mistake early in my modding days...in the case of the Galactic Map mod and the Network, the starting system has to be "SE", and the marker "Start". All bets are off for other adventure extensions, but that will be what you need for those two.

Thanks for all the help-I've got good news and bad news.
You guys were right about the invalid starting system; I made the change and now the Network mod loads just fine
However, when looking at the System (normal) Map screen, I then use the G key to look at the Galactic Map screen, which works okay. But when I hit the ESC key to exit from the Galactic Map, the game shuts down.
Any ideas why?

Drako Slyith-
I tried using "G" to exit the map and got the same response; I also several other keys on my keyboard, and they ALL got the same response
Is it just a question of which key to use or is it a deeper problem with the mod? I don't think it's a question of which key-but I admit I'm not an expert at this coding yet
Thanks again for the help. Let me know if you have any other ideas

Update:
I have been trying to figure out what the problem is with the Galactic Map and I am at my wit's end. I have checked and re-checked the code, but I am the first to admit that I am not truely fluent in the scripting system yet.
My game keeps crashing, but only after I access the Galactic Map. That is to say, I access the map, and it gives me a great image of all the systems I have visited, and when I attempt to exit the Galactic Map, it immediately crashes (without even exiting from the Galactic Map screen)
Anyone else have any ideas? Please let me know! I have a mod of my own in mind, and in order for it to work, the player would have to have access to a Galactic Map showing all of the systems they have visited thus far, so figuring out why this mod is not working is kinda important to me.
Hope to hear back from you soon!

What adventure are you playing. Can you also post a list of all the active mods you have? If you use any mods you are developing yourself, then please post the code in a pastebin (http://paste.neurohack.com)
