CannotOrder with NotForSale is redundant; NotForSale is inclusive of CannotOrder.

I'm not really sure, I believe that notFOrSale is used to prevent the item to appear in shops, while cannotOrder is used to prevent ordering from the corporate trading post.

NotRandom is used in the frequency for preventing items to appear in random loot tables.

That's why I use all of them.

Apparently notforsale doesn't do anything, or at least it's not checked by non-branded weapon and armor/shield dealers. I think it's not checked by the BM or Teratons or Ringers either.

And unlike most of the other sovereign specific stuff Foomerian gear is low enough level to appear before the non-branded weapon and armor/shield dealers stop.

i'm not 100% sure of how it really works, but if you just put NotForSale on an item, it won't appear in any shop.
As a simple example, check the Class V deflector.

Is that case sensative? because notForSale doesn't work. Nothing else is case sensativein Tscript that I know of.

The class V is rarity notrandom. It never appears unless specifically called for .

Yes, unfortunately, attributes are currently case-sensitive (but I would like to change that, when I get motivated enough)

I wanted to created a better model for the Templar-class armed cargo transport, but as I worked on it I somehow ended up with this beast:

Might be fun to see that thing flying around the Commonwealth with a few armed escorts...

Now I'm thinking that I need to work on creating models with less detail and more smoothness, since the extra details tend to turn into a mess of twisted pixels that resemble a Borg cube. Better to have a solid design concept than a lot of small details.

Looks heavy enough to be used mid/late game...

It looks like it could be a military supply ship. Sent out to CSCs with a few centurion-Xs. Or a Corporate Brinks truck! :)

The new stalwart and sentinel that you have posted on xelerus display unusual behavior:

- They both like to dock with the stargate, something that typically only the black market freighter and Salvagers do and which does not make sense for a civilian ship. I think this has something to do with the "wander" order and may be unavoidable. It doesn't really make sense for me to have the stalwart flying trade routes since the standard one only has a 40-ton hold.

- The sentinels will dock with Korolov stations and you will be offered missions to escort them, but it will always for 0 credits.

- The stalwarts like to dock with your Mule!

- They will both spawn in systems with no friendly stations (these apparently now occur in the 1.0RCs) and travel back and forth between the gates incessantly.

I really like the look of the new stalwart- it's brutal and aggressive and I wouldn't change a thing. Having a really wide span armor plate at the front is a major weakness, though, since it's a fast ship that can't turn well. It's also harder to keep alive at the beginning due to its weak starting configuration, but I think that's appropriate given how powerful it can get by the late game.

I'm not a big fan of the sentinel; I don't care for its looks and it seems to me to fill a niche that wasn't really empty to begin with. The extra weapon slot really isn't all that great a deal since it basically still handles like a freighter but can't carry as much and can't mount heavy armor.

Okay, first of all, the other ship is a Starlight, not a sentinel. Lets get that right.

Those are some interesting behavioral quirks. I was aware of them docking at stargates since they do this rather frequently, but had some concerns about what happens to them when they spawn in systems with no friendly stations, but the other stuff is new.

I'll have to look into the docking Korolov thing, that's both interesting and weird. Not sure if its good or bad or not, but since I have no clue how to fix it I'm not sure it matters! Docking with the Mule? That's just weird. Maybe they want to see if you've got anything good in there, huh? Hope you left the doors locked.

Currently both of those ships have their non-playership AI's based on those of the black market armed transports, modified to dock at commonwealth stations rather than just any station that won't shoot at them. Apparently this creates some issues, as it seems stargates, mules and Korolov are all commonwealth stations. I don't know what Korolov is looking for in ships that it asks you to escort, so I'll have to look into that.

If I can't find any way to fix these issues, I might change the AI ships' behavior to wandering or patrolling instead of doing trade routes.

--

I'm glad you like the Stalwart, I'm sorry you don't like the Starlight. I find that there really aren't that many niches to fill in the player ships area to begin with, and its mostly a matter of visual preference coupled with the kind of ship you want to fly. As long as some people like each of the ships, I'm happy with that. When upgraded with a proper cargo hold, the Starlight holds almost as much as the freighter, supports one more weapon and travels slightly faster without any upgrades. It also weighs a little less so it is slightly easier to maneuver.

If the engine supported it properly I'd give the Starlight a limited-angle forward facing auto-targeting turret for its primary weapon. I'm sure that would make a big difference. You'll notice some of the AI ships have this.

If you can think of any niches that need filling in the player ships department, I'd like to know about them.

Okay I think Starlights dock at Korolov because I left the "freighter" attribute on them. I can either assign some Korolov shipping prices to them, or remove that attribute so they aren't considered anymore.

Just thought I'd post some pics of my current progress on a mining station and support ships that I'm working on.

This is the station:
Image

And this is a ship created to work as a support or escort ship. Its not exactly what I had in mind originally, but it'll do.
Image

I had a mining ship too, but I've decided that I don't much care for it so I'm going to try working on another one.
