I am also for keeping the long range weapons.

I like the idea of upgrading the LRS, and I think there should be more options to go with it, such as jammers and the like.

*Making new thread before this goes to far off topic*
If you drop a bar of soap on the ground, is it dirty?
If a person is legally blind, and can suddenly see, is he breaking the law?
If a friend says he's going outside to get some air, what was he breathing before?

I also like the long weapon ranges, though I think the stations could afford to be a LOT more liberal before they become angry, considering that they are generally tough enough that you won't be cracking them by accident.

Additionally it would be nice if, rather than shooting at you for minor transgressions, they just charged an exorbitant one time docking fee to redress the damage caused by your poor fire control skills.

There are few things as frustrating as playing through a solid game and then having a key station flip out on you because your ICX pinged it for a few points of damage while an enemy ship is firing thermonuclear warheads at you...

(ps: I've pretty much stopped using ICX modules because this has happened to me more times than they are worth)

the WMD of the longreach makes it more of a problem than the icx. that damage isnt even needed by antimissile devices

Agreed on that.....I had a great playthrough in a Stalwart cut short by hitting a freighter with my Morningstar THROUGH the arena walls.....(yes, I know this has been talked about a LOT)....

And more upgrade ROMs for the LRS would be nice.....I'm sick of seeing shots BEFORE I see the ships that fire them (yah. THat mostly means Xenophobes)...

But long range weapons are VERY useful......and shouldn't be nerfed.
