I was thinking, if one recoiless shell or particle burst gets through the ship's hull why not seal off that area? There's no reason they shouldn't have bulkheads or something in the year 2500 (or whatever year it is in the Transcendence universe) as a safety measure, it'd feel more realistic if when your hull is breached if you where fast enough you could press a button to seal off the breach, then if you could still escape you could limp back to a station and they'd charge you something like 5000 credits to repair your hull... Anyway, I just thought that would be a nice feature and add a bit of realism if it's not too hard to impliment....
Also.... Bug/incompatibility thing: If you run Transcendence in 1152x864 resolution the buttons get misplaced, it's still playable but you'd have to use the keyboard for the in-game menus and stuff.

Your ship's pretty small, and stuff external to the ship like patch spiders can already get wrecked by getting your armor dinged up.
Still I do remember freefalling into a base in a completely wrecked ship in Privateer ... on the verge of death you manage to get off those last couple of FF missiles and flame your enemies as you drift helplessly, your only chance of survival the autopilot limping you to a base with a ship merchant and no enemy patrols. What a rush!

the bulkheads are represented by the hit point you have after the armor is gone. these are heavy weapons s.eing used, bulkheads are just about worthlesd
On the contrary, bulk heads are typically internal, and would be pretty tough to hit with a weapon from the outside. They are meant to seal off a section so it doesn't loose atmosphere. Most of the times when you die, your ship explodes, making any bulkhead system useless. However, if that were changed so that your ship had a large chance of simply depressurizing, killing YOU but not destroying your ship, a bulkhead system would be a cool feature.
It would be more realistic too. Why would a hull breach destroy a ship? You'd think something big would have to blow up inside- like a reactor or a micronuke.
