What is the Transcendence logo meant to be?

Self explanatory really.
To me, it looks like a Prussian carp which decided to try eating a train, but got bored halfway through and flew away.
What do you think it is/is meant to symbolize?

Logo? Do you mean the image used as the icon for the transcendence executable? I always thought it was a stylized shield symbol.

Yes I do.

I first thought that the three round cut-outs were planets, silhouetted against the black(ish) backdrop of space. Then I put my glasses on...

I never really thought of it being some sort of shield. Come to think of it, it wouldn't be a very good one, what with the big hole in the middle. The only terrestrial thing I think it resembles is maybe an axe-head, turned on it's side, but that doesn't seem very likely.

Actully, if you take the central cut-out to be an embossed cicle rather than an opening, there is a shield that looks exactly like that. I still think that it's just meant to look neat though. We'd need George's word on what it is.
