I just love how desperate attempts to survive often lead to dieing faster

Yeah that does happen quite often, but sometimes, especially if you got a Jump Drive, you can survive quite a long time.

Here's how that works for me: 1. Buy the jumpdrive 2. Almost run out of fuel. 3. Use the jumpdrive to get to a friendly station. 4. Find out I've spent my last credits on the jumpdrive and now cannot afford fuel

Nope. It's a very expensive late-game Device that lets you instantly cross large sections of space. It's good but costs 200,000 credits I think, when it's unknown, and about the same in Rin.

Oh, ok. I just haven't seen it anywhere even though I've reached Heretic multiple times.

I've never seen it at a commonwealth station. I've only seen it at Adventurer outfitters, Thors, Teraton, and Ringers stations. I've also looted it once or twice.

You won't know it's name though, so that's a bit difficult. It will initially be an "Unknown Alien Device"...which means it could be called any of the following:

Yep. It will cost anything from 100,000 credits to upwards of 200,000 the last time I checked. It should appear in the real late game, just a few systems prior to Heretic.

I've seen it as early as one or two systems past St.K. Also, it is sold at Taikon Ventures.

I've seen some 'Alien Device' really early as well, most of t he time its someting relatively low on the ranks though.

Those were the times when I got no System Map ROM Ttech. Anyways, it was my first encounter with them that time.

That's correct Draco Slyith. I also forgot to mention I was being chased by pirates and it was in the Sanctuary System if I may recall. Such pain to die......
