Believe it or not, 1.08b is ready:

http://www.neurohack.com/downloads/Trans108b.zip

There are no critical bugfixes, but it does fix a problem with getting the high scores from the cloud. It also implements the changes that PM and I were talking about regarding omni/swivel devices (http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence/trac/ticket/772)

The complete list of fixes is at the usual place: http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence/trac/report/14

Will there be a 1.08c? That depends on whether anyone finds a really interesting bug...

Wow, that was fast.

Thank-you-George! Of all the developers Microsoft has ever consulted with, you are indeed the best!

I nice thing to notice is that 1.08 again runs fine under wine, even with older versions like 1.01 (Debian).

Ok, at least with the software-renderer. With "/dx" it crashes on exit, but is playable.

Once thing Im wondering about is: There is no hit effect/sound displayed/played when hitting an asteroid with a mining laser. But thats fine for me - makes mining less noisy :D

Another minor issues:

I bought an unidentified level 1 barrel at an armor dealer. The station offered me to install that device - but could not :o

This is the same bug as the "let's try to installa piece of armor as a device" bug that turned up in 1.07a.

Although installing a BARREL is new. And quite impressive. :P

I guess that it would be easier to "install" the contents of a barrel in dry dock, than it would be to do so in the depths of space while wearing an environment suit. Perhaps this is a new service?

I would like to request more string functions. Specifically a function for searching item names for keywords and returning if it found the word. Example searching armors for their materials keywords like 'titanium' from 'a segment of light titanium armor'. The function would search for the word titanium and return turn if it is found.

So lets hope "installing (the contents of) a barrel" is a "really interesting bug" :D

One thing that still (for several versions of Transcendence) annoys me is: Im again playing a game with extensions installed that I dont use. I think I mentioned this several versions back, but I would highly appreciate if I could select which extensions Transcendence should use upon creation of a new game (a scrollable list with checkboxes for each extension may be ...).
Having to move/copy/delete stuff in your extensions folder before each game just doesnt seem to be the right way to handle extensions for me...

can't you just edit the folder name with an "_" prior to the actual name to disable an extension?
