Do you play Transcendence with a keyboard or a controller?

I started out playing Transcendence with the keyboard, but recently I started using a control pad (a USB clone of the PS2 controller) combined with JoyToKey to play, and it's great. I don't have quite enough buttons for everything I need so I have to reach up and use the keyboard occasionally, but i...

The weapon you were using was an IM-90. And, if memory serves, beating the Iocrym with Shatter disintegrates it. You might want to avoid that. ;) One could use Shatter to knock down it's shields and damage it lightly, then finish it off with Circle of Wrath. One of the recent updates also increased...

Killing Iocrym with Domina powers

Last night I got to the Iocrym with a loadout that couldn't scratch him - a +100 Fusionfire, +100 Alkari Turret, and a +30 multi-target ion cannon (forgot the name of it). I had no trouble with my 260 strength plasma shield, as long as I kept moving he couldn't get me down very low, but nothing I ha...

so, from what I can understand, there are 3 different scales in Transcendence: -ship scale, all the ships are in the same scale besides very large ships that falls in the next category -station scale, all the stations plus the CSC and the other large ships (Phobos, Iocrym) -planet scale, planets an...

an "idle power use" would be a great addition to the ship configuration screen. I think it would be a good idea for the ship to automatically turn off power to a weapon unless it is currently active(selected by "W"), except for capacator weapons, even then the turret component could be disabled, it...

There's some hints in the visions you get from the Huari that seem to indicate that the Iocrym ship may be serving as a kind of trip-wire. Very interesting. I also like the explanation for why the Sung keep slaves. I thought it was odd that such an advanced society would practice slavery, but it all...

The CSC should be bigger in game, not quite that big, but close. Problem with that is that the scale is already pretty wacky when you consider each pixel (for travel and range purposes) is supposed to be something like 12,500 km. I understand that everything is depicted at larger than actual size f...

I know adding a drive affects your thrust energy usage, but I don't know if that's in addition to what your default engine does or a replacement.

I think it would be neat if we had an engineering screen that showed the amount of energy being drawn by all the systems. It would be useful, too.

Heh, speaking of "coming out of the closet", if I google my last name I get pages of stuff on gay bars, gay pride parades, etc. My last name is the name of a famous gay district in a foreign country.

I found this problem a few days back and recorded it, but alas I also made the mistake of overwriting my savegame (I kinda hit a major dead end). If I find myself more Teraton researchers I'll gladly help out. By the way, this error happens once per nest with research as far as I can tell... if tha...

you stand a good chance of dying, but having some good meds negates that mostly. Yeah, I think I was the first person to post here about how you could avoid the Teratons killing you in their experiments back when they were first introduced. Found it! http://neurohack.com/transcendence/forums/viewto...

Is there a list somewhere that tells what the powers do? Some of them are obvious, but some of them are not.

Judging by the fact your little ship w/ an antimatter cannon (developed by other humans) will totally destroy what is supposedly one of the more powerful if not most powerful classes of ships in the Iocrym fleet, I'd say they advance rather slowly. Do we know that it's supposed to be one of their m...
