Mission creation

I have a metric ton of mission ideas I would like to include for Transcendence.

I haven't done any programming before, is it difficult to do this for Transcendence?

My mission ideas are free to good homes. I'll post them here if someone wants some ideas to kick around.

The Yoroi S100 is great, and guzzles less power than the Nephren.

I'll settle for a Class III Deflector if I find one. Its quite reliable for the early game.

Best weapon? Depends on what I can find. I usually don't bother buying weapons early on unless something pretty turns up in a shop. The Sapphire Yacht is an exeption, I try to replace that awful cannon ASAP. If you can get a dual flenser or an x-ray laser early in the game, then you are cooking with...

Arrest and insurance

If you attempt to smuggle the sealed container from the BM into St Katherines without the smugglers bay you get arrested, but if you have insurance you come back.

Afterwards, the station will still arrest you anyway if you try to return, even if you have the smugglers hold installed.

Bug: Shtorm repeater.

One of my favorite early game guns.

The description says the weapon fires blast 2-7 (x3), but in fact it fires a volley of 4. Not that I'm complaining, but it might be more deadly than it's supposed to be.

Now that the bugs which affected the earlier 0.99's have been fixed, the game runs damn fine.

Bravo George!

Project Orion

Has anyone ever read about this? Thoughts? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Orion_(nuclear_propulsion) http://www.islandone.org/Propulsion/ProjectOrion.html I'm in two minds about it, it seems like it could have been mans fast-track to the stars. My only real objections are that it hadn't ever b...

Planets, ships and other objects are not drawn to scale. You didn't think your sapphire was sixty million meters long did you? The scale of the game is specifed in the XML and I believe it IS accurate as regards to the distances between planets and the speed of light. Ah, you are trying to ...

Arco Vaughn now toothless

Arco Vaughn isn't much of an issue now. I rocked on up with my unmodified freighter and just sat there next to him. He flew around me occasionally taking a potshot at me. It took a couple of minutes for him to finally destroy me. If I actually had the missile launcher installed, Arco would be toast....

Thats a known bug. If you are patient enough, the freighter is likely to eventually dock (apparently).

The good news? The bug is already fixed. Download 0.99b any day now http://www.neurohack.com/transcendence/ ... admap.html
