Why don't they just change the radiation effect instead of making everything immune to it? If radiation is causing problems, just change it to something non-lethal, perhaps similar to a standard RPG-esque poison effect that damages your ship gradually for an extended period of time. Players will sti...

Having some devices to protect against this stuff would be nice. At the moment, however, I'm thinking that if something is annoying enough that higher level armors have to provide an automatic immunity to it (which incidentally I didn't know about because nothing in the game tells me these things), ...

Jump Drive
If its possible for the ships in UG Wingmen to use jump drives to escape when in danger, would it be possible for an enemy ship to do just the opposite - to use a jump drive to appear near the player's ship?

As I said, the only thing that matters is that the chance of finding something cool and the degree of coolness in what you find be the same regardless of how you choose to waste your time in this game. The game designer should make sure everything is balanced for the point in the game where it appea...

You seem to have this warped perspective of "overpowered". How powerful the player is going to be is strictly up to the player with a bit of chance thrown in. If the player isn't interested in being powerful, they can fly through the game as quickly as possible, neglecting to upgrade much of anythin...

Re: RC3
I guess this means no more lucky starts by finding some orthosteel ore in the metallic asteroids in Eridiani. Those starts were BAD because they made mining a requirement, and mining should never be mandatory like that :P You're no more forced to mine because you MIGHT get something good out of it ...

How in the world are you supposed to do the MRAD mission? All you're doing is dropping probes in random locations hoping to that you pick up on something, and then assuming you ever pick up on something, hoping you can get oriented in the right direction, then assuming you manage to get oriented, ho...

Incidentally my last insured-death was the result of an encounter with a dwarg base where I was promptly EMPed over and over, sitting there spinning in a circle while little dwargies blasted me to pieces. Nothing I could do about it. Disabling weapons, disabling shields - things i can live with. Dis...
