Oh, the station could hide a stargate using a cloaking device. And only they would have a code for decloaking. So, if you destroy them, you still could not pass ... If the station's destroyed, where's the power for the cloaking device coming from? Also, like Atarlost said, there's probably no cloak...

Since this post is bumped/necroposted/threadmined.... I think if this were implemented it should be some kind of organic weapon that addapts to its surroundings and feeds off your ships reactor, can only be removed with radioactive waste.. I was thinking, if one recoiless shell or particle burst gets through the ship's hull why not seal off that area? There's no reason they shouldn't have bulkheads or something in the year 2500 (or whatever year it is in the Transcendence universe) as a safety measure, it'd feel more realistic if when...

It might be a bit far fetched, but how about the commonwealth fleet gets cornered and the Ares uses Elsium (via modified jump drives or something) to mount a massive attack on Eridani or St. Katherine's and surrounds the commonwealth, the in the insueing chaos a probe or something detects the energy...
